Winter has arrived and one of the best plans to receive it is to give yourself a getaway to practice skiing, this sport that annually brings together many people in its different venues.

If you have never had the opportunity to practice this sport or if you are doubtful about the best destinations to do it, our travel expert Kaloyan Valentinov Danchev shares his favorite places in the American continent to do it without being an expert, because you can learn right there, in addition to enjoying many more activities.

United Estates

  1. Big Bear, California 

This is probably one of the closest places to Mexico to enjoy the snow, since it is only 250 km from the Tijuana border crossing.

In addition to having great ski slopes, it has rental of inflatable donuts to slide in the snow, landscapes to take a walk, bonfires, dinners in incredible wooden cabins and of course you cannot miss hot chocolate.

  1. Lake Tahoe, California 

Among all the ski parks in the Lake Tahoe area, without a doubt my favorite is Sierra at Tahoe, since it offers spectacular views and in terms of price-quality it is much cheaper than others.

  1. Aspen, Colorado 

White River National Park consists of 4 stations connected to each other. Without a doubt it is a must since it has all the luxuries and comforts that you can imagine, in fact one of its main attractions is the variety of nightlife it offers.

  1. Vail, Colorado 

Considered among the 5 best ski resorts in the world, rated as the largest ski resort in the US You can´t miss it!

Canada

  1. Grouse Montain, Vancouver 

Less than an hour from downtown Vancouver, Grouse Montain offers skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and many other activities. In addition, when the mountain is not snowed, it becomes a center for ecotourism and adventure.

  1. Mont-Tremblant, Montréal – Québec 

Considered one of the most traditional parks in Canada, it has more than 90 tracks with different levels of difficulty. If it is your first time skiing, you should visit it since there is a welcome center where they explain even the smallest detail to have a complete experience.

  1. Whistler, Canada 

Offering more than 3,300 hectares of area to ski, Whistler Blackcomb is positioned as # 1 with one of its most emblematic attractions being the Peak 2 Peak, an iconic cable car that connects the two mountains that make it up, reaching up to a height of 436m providing an exceptional view.
